The 2026 Inaugural Montfort Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition of 30 installations by 20 artist/sculptors from CT, MA, and NH opens Saturday, May 16, from 2-4 p.m. at The Shrine of Lourdes in Litchfield.
The exhibition is sponsored by the Litchfield Arts Council, NW CT Arts Council, Society of Connecticut Sculptors, New England Sculpture Association, and the New England Foundation for the Arts.
The exhibition theme is Contemplation < > Reflection. During the opening, after welcome by Don LaSalle, SMM and Litchfield’s First Selectman Denise Raap, members of the public can hear directly from the sculptors as to why their installation connects to the theme. The opening reception includes a wine tasting sponsored by the award-winning Sunset Meadow Vineyards in Goshen, and a poetry reflection by Litchfield’s Poet Laureate and author Robert Piazza.
RSVPs are required to attend this free event: shrinect.org/sculpture
