The Litchfield Historical Society is offering its terrific Artists of Litchfield walking tour on July 19 and Aug. 9, allowing guests to experience the Historic District through the eyes of artists from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, featuring their words, sketches, and paintings.
Whether you are a lifelong resident, an art enthusiast, or a curious visitor, this one-hour stroll offers a fresh, evocative perspective on the borough’s storied streetscapes.

- Time: 1:00 p.m. (Tour lasts approximately 1 hour)
- Departure Point: Meet outside the Litchfield History Museum (7 South Street, Litchfield, CT)
- Cost: Free for Members | $10 for Non-Members
- What to Bring: Please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a bottle of water.

NOTE on the painting: The Celebration of 1851 was created in 1933 by A. Sheldon Pennoyer and commemorates a two-day event in August 1851 that marked the creation of Litchfield County. It is in the collection of the Litchfield Historical Society.
