The Prime Finds ‘Home For The Holidays’ pop-up shop opens for the season on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 10 a.m. at Lourdes of Litchfield Pilgrim Hall and continues through Dec. 31. The Home for the Holidays shop is akin to an art and antiques haven, and is known for offering high quality used furniture, home décor, and holiday goods, sold at great prices. Featured items include artwork, linens, fashion accessories, jewelry, kitchenware, holiday décor, and collectible books. All of the items are donated – and all purchases support individuals in the care of the Torrington-based Prime Time House who are coping with mental health challenges. With a mission of empowering individuals struggling with the effects of mental illness to lead productive, independent, and fulfilling lives, Prime Time House offers guidance and support for employment, education, housing, friendship and community, and transportation. It serves more than 300 adults from Litchfield County. Each year since 2015, as part of its fundraising efforts, Prime Time House has operated a volunteer-staffed holidays shop. All proceeds benefit the mental health programs at Prime Time House. Lourdes of Litchfield is located off Route 118 (East Street), east of Litchfield center. Lourdes features a replica of the Grotto Lourdes in France, built in the late 1950s with local fieldstone in a natural rock ledge by two Montfort Brothers. Watch the Home for the Holidays shop’s Facebook page for announcements about hours and reduced prices as the holiday season progresses.
