Stop by the Jamie Gagarin Gallery at Oliver Wolcott Library to see the exhibit of artwork by elementary school students in the Region 20 school district before the show closes on Feb. 26.
The gallery’s February show is a collaboration with Region 20’s five elementary schools in Litchfield, Warren, Morris and Goshen. (Region 20 was created when Litchfield Public Schools merged with the former Region 6 school district, consisting of Warren, Morris and Goshen.)
Artwork on display include a range of projects and media in which students explored various processes, techniques and artists.
Projects include Mixed Media Crayons, Piet Mondrian Collages, Calder Primary Color Paintings, Animals with Paper Quilts, Vincent van Gogh Sunflowers in a Vase, Van Gogh prints with silhouettes inspired by Starry Night, Snow Globes, Rex Ray Collages and Winter Folk Trees.
Additionally, Nutcracker artwork was also generated by all grades as a connection to a district-wide field trip to watch The Nutcracker at the Warner Theatre.
The exhibit opened Feb. 3 and continues through Feb. 26. The gallery is open during library hours, which are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, until 9 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
