Applications are now open for artists hoping to be invited to participate in the third annual Plein Air Litchfield fine art painting festival to be held from Sept. 12 to 20.
Plein Air Litchfield began as a 1-day event in 2024 and grew to a 6-day festival in 2025, featuring 34 artists who spent a week painting in and around Litchfield while competing for awards and $8,500 in prize money.
The five 2025 prize winners are automatically invited back, and 30 distinguished landscape artists in all will participate in Plein Air Litchfield 2026. Some of the featured events art lovers and visitors to Litchfield can participate in will include:

Plein Air Litchfield is hosted under the auspices of Art Tripping, a 501c3, non-profit organization formed to create community art experiences and develop educational programs nourishing creativity.
