An unsigned oil painting of two women playing musical instruments attributed to Italian Baroque painter Guido Reni (1575-1642) is featured in the April 30 auction at Litchfield County Auctions.
Purchased at Parke-Bernet Galleries circa 1956, it has an estimate of $25,000 to $35,000.
The sale also features property from the collection of the late Jeff Trundy of Washington, CT, and Augusta, Maine, who was the baseball coach at The Frederick Gunn School in Washington.
Trundy’s collection of painted furniture, folk art, samplers, redware, stoneware, decoys and baskets was assembled over more than three decades.
The auction also offers a series of presidential memorabilia, including a badge of merit, signed by George Washington, and a military note signed by Abraham Lincoln, from a prominent Manhattan collection.
