The Oliver Wolcott Library is welcoming submissions through April 30 from artists who would like to exhibit their work in the library’s Jamie Gagarin Gallery, a showcase for displaying fine art in a range of styles and media.
The gallery offers a unique opportunity for artists to share and sell their work to a broad and diverse audience within Litchfield County, according to OWL.
All exhibited artwork is selected through a competitive, juried process led by the Cultural Committee appointed by the President of the OWL Board of Trustees. The Cultural Committee utilizes several guidelines in its selection process including but not limited to: technique, price range, size of proposed work, medium, framing and artist credentials.
Selected artists would be exhibiting in 2026. Generally, there are approximately six exhibit opportunities throughout the year which run about six weeks each. The selection process may be for an individual show or as part of a thematic group show. A group show allows artists who may not have a complete body of work to exhibit at OWL. At the time of submission, please note in your application if you are not open to being considered as part of a group show.
The submission deadline is April 30, 2025, and artists may expect to hear from the committee in June.
